Dr. Brauman has specialized expertise in forensic evaluations, particularly in criminal and immigration court contexts. She has served as an expert witness in numerous federal jurisdictions.

Currently, most of Dr. Brauman’s clinical practice is focused on clients interfacing with USCIS, EOIR, and other immigration officials. Psychological assessments can be used by immigration lawyers to assist their clients’ petitions for Asylum, Extreme Hardship, VAWA, U-Visa, T-Visa, Cancelation of Removal, and Adjustment of Status.

Dr. Brauman also conducts evaluations for Competency to participate in immigration proceedings. Assessment of competency requires advanced training and expertise in forensic psychological matters. Dr. Brauman often works alongside attorneys and representatives appointed through the Nationally Qualified Representative Program (NQRP). Competency evaluations may also be requested by privately retained attorneys at any stage in the legal process.
